Mother of Pearl Plate, handcrafted from the finest mother of pearls in Southeast Asia, decorated with Sterling Silver Tiger, with intricate details of skilled craftsmanship visible on the Silver texture of the piece.

Lotus Arts de Vivre sources its Mother of Pearl plates from the tropics of Asia and the collection includes various designs of plates. Mother of Pearl is the common name for a nacre coating, it is strong, resilient, and iridescent. Popular for their sturdiness and beauty, it was also used to decorate watches, knives, guns, and jewellery. The main commercial sources of these shells started in the early 1900’s, worn by the Kings and Queens of various eras.

Tigers and their superlative qualities have been a source of fascination for mankind since ancient times, and they are routinely visible as important cultural and media motifs. As a spirit animal, the meaning for the tiger is said to be willpower, courage, and personal strength. Some recognize tigers and dragons as powerful symbols representing the balanced forces of yin and yang. The Chinese god of wealth, Tsai Shen Yeh, is often shown sitting on top of a tiger to emphasize his power. In Chinese culture, tigers are seen as the guardian of children.

This piece took approximately 2 months labour to finish, with over 6 craftsmen and designers involved from design to production.
